This year was different because we where all getting ready to go to high school, we all went on so many different feild trips and had new adventures. But without a dought one of the most exciting things this year would have to have been the 2010 Olympics which where held here in Vancouver, my home town. I’m so excited to get out of elementary school but at the same time their is a bit of worry and sorry behind the subject as well. I’m worried about getting lost in the highschool and not being able to find all my classes, and I’m sad to be leaving all my memories behind, and not just my memories but the ones me and my friends share of all the good times when we would play on the playgound and all the times we sliped and fell. But I know there is more for me to find out in the world, and all I have to do is look for it. Thanks to all my friends and classmates for helping me throught the year and see you all in highschool :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The past few weeks have been busy, we have so many different projects due and our schedual his not as it noramly is. We had a dance instructor come into the school to teach us a dance she coragraphed, and then the friday of that week we had to preform the dance for the whole school. This week we had to pick a group to work in, and luckly I am in a group with lots of my friends, now all we have to do is coriagraph the whole thing for this upcomming friday, we have pieces of it done but there is still lots more time we have to fill. So far our group has preformed for our class twice in two blocks. We have also had lots of assignments to deal with. First I have my reading assingment which I am feeling good about because  I already finnished the book over Spring break and I have also started writing parts of the assingment. Next we found out that we have to make a mimi book for LA and choose a topic, that assignment is due Tuesday and I have goten most of it done. We also have to prepare a one minnet and thirty second persuasive argument for Socials on a topic that our teacher assigned us. On top of that we have  another assignment comming and we had to choose three women for that. In Science and CAPP I have been keeping up with all the assignments. We also have Mayfair comming up which is an anual fundraser our school has every year with event and games, which is always a lot of fun. I am so glad the weekend is coming so I can catch up on things, chill and hang out with my friends.

This week has been very interestion. We have had substitute after substitute this week so switching classes has not been as smooth as normal. This week has also been tough for me becuse I couldnot keep up with all the assignments we had and I kept forgetting the duedates. but we did start an extreamly fun art project. Then on Wednesday we had buddies  and my friend helped me with my buddie. We where talking about what we thought was delishis and then we had to draw a picture of somthing we like to eat. Also this week my dad has been looking into buying a new car and he found a really cool Jeep but he hasn’t bought one yet.  Back to school. My old friend who used to go to my school came from her Spring Break to see me and I was so glad to see her. We ran around all recess and cought up on thing we had missed throught the last year or so. Then on Wednessday we where shocked when sudenly in the middle of class it started to snow, we all where so happy, untill we realized it was just a false alarm becuase withing five minnets the snow had been replaced by rain.  Sence then it has been raining every day. Finnally the sun has come bursting through the clouds and I am so glad that the rain has finally dissapered (hopefully it doesnt come back :) )! Latley the Olympics have been a big deal at our school and we have been very fortunate as to be able to have bolth the Olympic and Paralympic torches. On Monday we will go to see Wheelchair currling and then on Friday we are off to see the Sledge Hockey! Next week is sure to be fun with the events we will be going to see.

OLYMPIC HOCKEY GAME

Posted on February 24th, 2010 in Uncategorized by juliasri02

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to go be able to go to one of the 2010 Olympic hockey games at GM Place. I was astounded at how much security they had lined up even before I made it through the doors of the the building, it was as thought I was in an Airport trying to board a plane! Also they had you walking practically three fourths the way around the stadium. Then after the game was over and everyone was trying to exit for some reason  we all had to exit through one place! If I had not know any better I would have thought there had been some kind of accident or blockage ahead of us! While I was watching the game one of the things that I noticed was that there where no fights, at first I didn’t know why this was because in every other hockey game I had seen there had been multiple fights but when I asked my dad he told me that in the Olympics they play with the International rules and if players fight they are thrown out of the game. Tomorrow I am going to another Olympic Hockey game at noon with my dad. Thats all for now and I will write more tomorrow about the game.

The Olympics have finally began in Vancouver BC, so all of West Vancouver is out of school for the time being. There is so much going on now with an event at least every hour! On Friday was the Official Olympic Torch Ceremonies and a few days before that I saw the torch run down by the end of our street. But for the remainder of the Olympic break I have so many plans. I plan on going to at lest one Olympic Hockey game and watching Figure Skating and most of the other sports on TV. But for this week we have relatives coming into town and I know that we are all going to go Down Town and see some the things that are going on there. Lately I have been shooting hoops on the basket ball net in our lane. And last week I made homemade chocolate moose. Thats all for now!
